IRL opportunities to connect

This whole thing started with a traveling mailbox through New York City. We’re still hauling the mailbox around, asking passersby to write and read. We’re at 31 public cries and counting.

The mailbox evolved: You must now EARN your “write to read”. We host monthly ticketed anonymous writing salons in living rooms & venues — featuring spoken word artists & guest musicians. An exercise in trust & reciprocity for sexy voyeurs.

The Mailbox evolved again: We hosted our first gallery exhibit at ClearStory Arts in January 2026 - a chance for local artists to create original artwork in response to local unsent letters.

Join us at an event in New York City:

Write to Read: Raage Friday, April 17

Subway Mailbox: Pop-up Thursday, April 2

Where else have we been? Austin, Chattanooga, Houston. Want to adopt a mailbox, host a salon or gallery exhibit in your city? Let’s collaborate.

What began in a subway car has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
